Annie Chatman began her professional journey with Kitsap Transit in 2003, taking on the Customer Service Scheduling Assistant (CSSA) role. With a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of those she serves, she volunteered to become a Travel Trainer in 2007 while continuing her CSSA duties. Her passion for promoting accessible transportation and aiding individuals in navigating their options led to her promotion in 2023 to Customer Service Lead, where she continues to make a significant impact. In her role, Annie has been a key player in collaborating with the Community Transportation Association of the Northwest (CTANW) to develop the first-ever Travel Training Best Practices Guide. This comprehensive resource aims to empower travel trainers across the region by providing valuable insights and strategies for practical training. Currently, she is further enriching her skill set by pursuing a Mobility Manager Certification through Easter Seals, positioning herself as a leader in the mobility management field. Annie's outreach extends beyond her immediate responsibilities; she actively collaborates with various organizations such as Communities in Schools Peninsula and the Accessible Communities Advisory Committee. Working closely with local community partners throughout Kitsap County, she has forged essential partnerships that foster a more inclusive transportation network. Her dedication to community engagement and her unwavering commitment to enhancing accessibility make her an invaluable asset within the field.
