Megan Wirtz is the Mobility Management Coordinator for Cowlitz Wahkiakum Council of Governments. The goal of the Regional Mobility Management Program is to coordinate resources to improve the availability and accessibility of transportation services for persons with disabilities, youth, aging adults, rural populations, and individuals of lower income. As part of the program, the Mobility Management Coordinator works with transportation and human service providers serving Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Lewis, Pacific and Grays Harbor Counties – the regional area covered by the Southwest Washington Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SWRTPO), as well as providers serving the cities of Longview, Kelso and Rainer, Oregon – the urbanized area covered by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Included on the Regional Mobility Management webpage is information for 50 transportation services organized by county and need. Intercity connections and trip planners are also part of the lists to help give a broader and more complete picture of mobility options within the region. Resources can be found at www.cwcog.org/mobility-management. Megan is studying to become a Certified Mobility Manager with the Easterseals Project Action and enjoys facilitating travel training, educating the public on services available, attending community events, and hosting meetings with stakeholders.
